Music Video Roundup #4: Moby, Mia Riddle, Kaiser Cartel, Lowry

Aside from the usual suspects, we’re featuring not just awesome music videos released this week but also awesome music videos from bands that are playing The Deli’s Best of NYC Festival in a few weeks. Check it…
Stereogum: Moby “Shot in the Back of the Head”
We dig floating heads. We also dig David Lunch. And Moby. So together, this is a whole big beautiful mess of a music video.
MBV: Empire of the Sun “Walking on a Dream”
While it wasn’t actually released within the last week, it was brought to our attention within the week. Considering ourselves very observant, it was surprising that this one slipped by. Better later than never, eh? Now this is a band that has their kooky image down pat, and it works for ‘em!
Rhett and Link cover The Jefferson’s “Movin’ On Up”
Also not a typical feature but even though this one was released this week, it’s a cover of a television show theme song! Let just say Leaf Trombone, you watch it, and we’ll leave the awesomeness at that.
And now for the SPECIAL FEATURE! This nice assortment of bands all have one thing in comon. They’ll be playing together on May 6th at Southpaw in Brooklyn. Based on the rockin’ music videos alone, this is poised to be a killer show. We’ll be there. These bands will be there. So go buy your tickets!
Mia Riddle “Open Wide”
Kaiser Cartel “Oh No”
The King Left “The Storm in a Tea Cup”
April Smith “Bright White Jackets”
Elizabeth and the Catapult “Last Opus”
Lowry “Whiskey”
The Deli’s Best of NYC Festival, May 6th- 10th
Chairlift, Crystal Stilts, The Secret Life of Sofia, Takka Takka, as well as Music Videos bff’s Lowry are just a few of the bands playing, at venues such as Southpaw, The Bell House, and Joe’s Pub in NYC. Music Videos is an official media partner for the festival, so we will be there, in person, projecting music videos between sets. Come say hi!
