Music Video Roundup #6: Twitter Edition

When we ask you something on twitter, we mean it! We threw “What the best music video you’ve seen in the last week? Curious minds wants to know!” out into the universe and were looking forward to the answer. The outcome? Not disappointment! All the music videos featured in this week’s muic video roundup (in addition to our upcoming special event band’s music videos), are from you folks, so thanks. Below are our favorites. (Click through to see the embedded videos!)
@merti - Firekites “Autumn Story”
Besides the obviously large time commitment dedicated to making this music video, we’re totally impressed with its attention to detail and lovely illustrations.
@andrewhuntre – Maria Taylor “Cartoons And Forever Plans”
It’s only the sweetest music video concept we’ve seen in basically forever. See if you can get through this one without cracking at least a smile, or unless you’re really cynical, a good eye roll. We prefer the former.
@kestrin - his Orchestra, “Black Coffin”
The delicate tune’s sublty is only emphasized by the dark lyrics and theatrics of the actual music video. Bravo. And if you can’t tell from 6 of these music video roundups, we REALLY love music videos that feature dancing.
And now, to turn your attention to NYC. The best of NYC actually. It’s one of our favorite subjects, The Deli’s Best of NYC Fest! After posting fun music videos from the bands performing May 6th at Southpaw, May 8th at The Bell House we’d now like to present you with the coup d’etat, a fantastic smattering of bands performing May 10th at The Bell House. As follows:
Chairlift “Evident Utensil”
Takka Takka “Silence”
Angel Deradoorian on the Inlets’ Take-Away Show for “Roots on Sidewalks”
The Secret Life of Sophia at SXSW 2009
Are you convinced yet? Go get your tickets. And don’t forget to give Jack and Melissa a high-5 when you arrive.
The Deli’s Best of NYC Festival, May 6th- 10th
Chairlift, Crystal Stilts, The Secret Life of Sofia, Takka Takka, as well as Music Videos bff’s Lowry are just a few of the bands playing, at venues such as Southpaw, The Bell House, and Joe’s Pub in NYC. Music Videos is an official media partner for the festival, so we will be there, in person, projecting music videos between sets. Come say hi!
