Of all the submission we’ve received, this one definitely has the most in common aesthetically with this week’s actual Music Video by Scream Hello. That distinct DIY flair, the slight goofiness of it all (in the best possible way), the over-the-topness (is that even an adjective?), so it only seemed right that High Art by Phil and the Osophers was today’s In the Spirit of Music Videos music video. Even though the actual concepts are very different, we’d like to commend the level of awesome achieved.  Also: ouch. And again: ew. This one isn’t for the eyeball squeamish.

About High Art: Made in one day when our friend got laser surgery, the band and Leonardo Rodriguez (director), tagged along and convinced the doctor to let us film it. Then we stuck around and paid the receptionist to sneak into the operating room and refilm the surgery.
