As will happen when something is public domain, good things happen. When not restriced by intellectual property, arts are free to play with someon else's work and new life is given to older work.  Case-in-point is this strangely coordinated music video for John Dufilho's "I'm Gonna Stay Under These Covers," all made from public domain footage.
